Numerous photographers from different music magazines waited for DM's appearance in front of the circus tent.  The lights flashed as  hey stepped out, and only ONE photographer seemed to have trouble with his apparatus. While Alan, Martin and Dave disappeared into the bus, Andy had compassion for the unfortunate photographer and waited patiently until he fixed his camera. (which surprised me because I know Andy hates to be photographed!) When the photographer was finally ready, he took a deep breath and as he was ready to take a picture, Andy stuck out his tongue and threw him "the bird".  The photographer was so surprised, he completely forgot to snap a shot and so the priceless photo was lost. disappeared with a laugh into the tourbus while the photographer turned green and blue with annoyance....
